Where we point our mouse when we want to read the fashion magazines
Keeping up-to-date on what is hot or not, in or out, classic or catastrophe is not an easy thing to do. If you life in Paris, New York, or Milan, finding out that red is in for more than just Christmas is fairly easy. A person need only watch who walks down the streets or pop-in designer shops to trend spot. Those of us that live a bit farther outside fashion’s hub cities have to be a bit more creative.
For those of us not lucky enough to live near London’s Upper Sloane Street, New York’s marvelous 5th Avenue, Milan’s chic Via Montenapoleone, or gay Paris’ Champs-Élysées we must do a bit more in the fashion homework department.
To search out what is this years new secret, Malbea Fashion has put together a list of their top five style bibles, the fashion magazines that we love to read and thumb through, and not just to sniff their perfumed sample pages.
Vogue– Condé Nast and the worlds most influential source for today’s trends and tomorrow’s classics. Under the guidance of Anna Wintour, this meaty 500 plus page publication produces several different international versions that can keep you abreast of what is in before it even arrives to your shores. With photography that some see as art itself, it is our powerhouse pick that even fashion designers hold up as their icon.
Elle– with 39 international editions in over 60 countries, this publication wins our thumbs up for being a leader in its focus on “Eco" or "Green" issues and for highlighting organic cosmetics. More practical and less cold than Vogue, Elle offers its readers practical advice and recognizes the difference between approving a design for brand name appeal and artistic merit and actually trying to walk in those designer 4 inch stilettos.
GQ- our pick for mens wear, and for those tired of seeing ripped jeans, baggy T-shirts and altogether sloppy attire. This sophisticated mens publication also includes news columns and sophisticated fiction as well as polished mens fashion suggestions.
Vanity Fair– If you want to know who’s wear what in the world of politics, film and the world’s who’s who list, this publication is wear you will find the answers. Want to look like Donald Trump or your favorite celebrity, you will find your answers on their pages.
Harper’s Bazaar– Fashion with a sense of humour, this publication has an irreverence that makes us smile. An up beat and entertaining mag with information about beauty and health that is approachable to woman of all income.
